Questions
Everything about turning your pet into a paper model. Something not answered here? Use "Report a problem" on the front page.
How does it work?
Choose a photo of your pet looking at the camera. We turn it into a cube-style paper model: a box head with your pet's real face, a box body and paper ears. You get a printable PDF template with numbered tabs, step-by-step pictures and a 3D preview. It takes about three minutes, a little longer when there is a line.
Which pets can I make?
Cats, dogs, bunnies, hamsters, guinea pigs and teddy bears. Any pet works best when it looks straight into the camera.
Is it free?
Yes. While we are in beta it is free, extras included. You only need to sign in with your e-mail address.
What do I need to build it?
A home printer, A4 or US Letter paper (thin card holds its shape best), scissors and a glue stick. Print at 100%. The basic pet is two sheets and about 15 minutes of cutting, folding and gluing.
What makes a good photo?
One pet, close up and sharp, looking into the camera with its whole face in the picture. A face that is turned away or hidden behind a paw can't become the front of the head.
How big is the finished paper pet?
About 11 cm (4.3 inches) tall. Before you send the photo you can choose anything from 5 to 30 cm.
Can I add wings, glasses or a collar?
Yes: angel wings, round glasses, a bandana, a collar with a name tag, front paws and a tail, or chibi proportions and a kawaii face. Each one is its own paper piece that glues on. You can change the extras of a finished pet later without waiting in line again.
Is it a good gift?
A paper version of someone's cat or dog makes a sweet, personal present: for pet lovers, for a craft afternoon with kids, or as a keepsake of a pet that has passed away.
What happens to my photos?
Only you can see your pets. Your photos are used to make your paper pet and are not given to anyone else for that. You can delete a pet, or your whole account, at any time.
